1 1.1.09 Chimney, Orleton 521 was called to this chimney.
2 1.1.09 Chimney, Orleton

With several changes of pump in recent times a piece of equipment was missing Of course this piece was needed so 522 was called.

3 1.1.09 Smoke Alarm Sounding Orleton

521attended. Having gained access they discovered a faulty detector/smoke alarm

 

4 5.1.09 Smoke Cloak, Woolworth Both pumps attended as the caller saw the empty shop was full of smoke. Confident that the shop was not on fire the crews awaited a key holder. Having gained entry the crews found a water leak had caused an activation of the smoke cloak. The water leak was isolated and duty left with the owner.
5 6.1.09 Woodburner Hay Lane Again both pumps were called to this wood burner. A beam above the burner was alight but brought down considerable amount of the chimney stack. The services USAR team were called out to shore up the stack.
6 6.1.09 Chimney, Orleton 522 attended but required the use of the thermal image camera housed on 521 so the second pump was called.
7 6.1.09 Chimney, Orleton A make pumps 2 for the above job.
8 10.1.09 Smell of Gas Forbury Residential home An early start for the crew of 521. A request was placed for Herefords crew with gas detection equipment. Not discovering the source the crew awaited the arrival of the gas board.

5th chimney based call of the year.

10 12.1.09 Child Stuck In Car, Morrisons 521 is called to a young child locked in a car at the supermarket. A quick use of the glass punch soon had the child and mum reunited.
11 13.1.09 Smoke Issuing Rear of Focus Both pumps to this "False Alarm" a garden bonfiire
12 14.1.09 AFA Lion Court Only 521 called this time, burnt cumpets
13 15.1.09 AFA Morrisons Supermarket An engineer had been soldering some pipes causing the actuation of a detector head. 521 attended and ventilated the area
14 15.1.09 RTC Monkland Both pumps attended this call, a car had left the road and came to rest in the dirch. No action required apart from monitoring in case of fire.
15 16.1.09 Smoke Alarm Sounding Eaton Close An elderly blind lady had her alarm go off, the alarm appeared faulty. The service remained with the lady until the "on call" representitive arrived, as well as an engineer for the alarm.

17 21.1.09 Smoke Issuing, Black Swan Both pumps attended this incident, a smoke generator was found in a bin in the pub. The pub was ventilated by the service personnel
18 24.1.09 House Fire Tenbury Wells Both pumps were called again to assist Tenbury at this incident. The elderly resident was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. BBC News Worcester News Hereford Times

20 26.1.09 RTC Kington 522 with its heavy cutting equipment was sent to assist at this RTC
21 26.1.09 Shed Fire, Pierpoint Road Again 521 was mobiliesed to a small rubbish fire near a shed.
22 29.1.09 Woodburner Tenbury 521 went to assist 531 at this woodburner. The Leominster crew worked inside whilst the Tenbury crews worked outside.
23 29.1.09 Basement Fire Newman House Both Leominster pumps were mobilised to this property. After extensive searching the OIC could determined that this was a false alarm malicious.
24 2.2.09 RTC Weobley 522 attended this call with 511.
25 3.2.09 RTC Make Safe Docklow 522 again called to an RTC. The driver had lost control on a bend and had landed on his side on the wrong side of the road. The vehicle was made safe and placed in a lay-bye to reopen the highway.
26 3.2.09 RTC Make safe Norden The crew arrived to find a motorist who had slid off the road into a gully. He had decided that all he needed was a push so called the service. He was advised that the service was not for this type of call and was for emergencies.
27 6.2.09 Chimny Shobden 521 was called to assist 511 with this chimney. Also requested was the ALP from Hereford as the chimney was alight high up.
28 10.2.09 Washing Machine Fire Fords Bridge Both pumps were called to this fire in an out-house. On arrival the occupants had effectively dealt with the fire with extinguishers. The service ventilated the property.

11.2.09 RTC Make Safe Berrington The Leominster crew attended to make the vehicle safe following this minor shunt
30 11.2.09 Chimney Kingsland 521 assisted Kingsland with this chimney.
31 12.2.09 Car Fire Somerfield Carpark When 521 attended this car was found to have minor smoke emmerging from the engine compartment. The crew issolated the battery and calmed the young driver.
32 12.2.09 Chimney Maidenhead Orleton 521 joined a pump from Ludlow at this 16th centruy pub. The chimney was an difficult shape but the fire was dealt with by the towns crew, Ludlow returned to station on Leominsters arrival
33 17.2.09 Out of control Bonfire 521 attended this fire to discover it was more of a civil issue than a serious fire.
34 22.2.09 RTC Lorry A49 Ashton The crews arrived to discover an HGV on its side. No persons trapped. The vehicle was made safe and a crew remained to help with road safety on this bad bend.
35 22.2.09 Stand By 46 Trip to Hereford Station to watch over the city while the cities pumps attended a major house fire
36 22.2.09 Garden Fire Eyton Both pumps were called to this garden fire, it had spread to a pile of firewood next to a shed.
37 24.2.09 AFA Norfolk House Burnt toasted had activated the alarm
38 25.2.09 Man stuck in public toilet An unfortunate man was stuck behind a jammed door
39 27.2.09 RTC Maidenhyde Risbury

A very unusual incident, a car having left the road was undiscovered for 22hours. Both Leominster pumps and one from Bromyard attended to assist in the release of the driver.

40 28.2.09 RTC Car Fire 521 was sent to this "Car Fire" however the car was not alight and the crews had to assist a lone ambulane paramedic to stabalise the driver before an air ambulance could take her to hospital
41 9.3.09 House Fire, Kimbolton An early morning call for the station, both pumps. The Leominster crews called in a third pump to assist. The house lost its roof, an electrical fire. Unfortunately the new owners were due to move in the same day.
42 9.3.09 House Fire, Stoke Prior The second house call for the day. This time the cres were a bit limited, (2 crews of 4). The fire was in a first floor bed room in a range of buildings. The incident was made up to 4 pumps then 6, This proved to be a protracted incident lasting over 24 hours.
43 9.3.09 Relief Crew Stoke Prior Damping down had to be continued for some time
44 11.3.09 Woodburner Just before drill night the crews were called to a local address to this well alight chimney/woodburner. The crews called for assistance from an ariel appliance. However the ALP from Hereford was out on another job so the HP from Bromsgrove was called.
45 12.3.09 RTC Steensbridge Both pumps again called out to an RTC. However there was nobody trapped. The crews made the vehicle safe due to risk of fire.
46 13.3.09 Barn Fire Nr Prestigne Both pumps were called to assist Prestigne and Kington at this barn. The barn was soon under control however the farmer suffered the loss of some livestock.
47 13.3.09 RTC Wigmore/Leinthall Starks The rescue pump attended with Leintwardine and Kingsland. The driver was airlifted to Hereford hospital.
48 17.3.09 AFA Muscat Development 521 responded to this call.
49 17.3.09 AFA Burgess Street A second call came in, which 522 attended, but was the same incident. The crew of 521 had to remain on site until a key holder was found.
50 20.3.09 Lorry ire Ginhall Lane A horsebox suffered from an electrical fault, the cab was well alight when the Leominster crews attended.
51 21.3.09 Man Stuck In Window An early morning call sent 521 to assist.
52 23.3.09 Tree Fire Near Arkwright Court A tree in a garden near Arkwright was accidentally set alight, 521 attended and extinguished the tree.
53 26.3.09 Car Fire Weobley Attended with Kingsland, extinguish car
54 27.3.09 Trailer fallen Over. Bargates A trailer full of bales had fallen over near the traffic lights. 521 attended and awaited the righting of the trailer
55 28.3.09 Fire Community Hospital 521 was sent to investigate what turned out to be a malicious phone call

57 31.3.09 Washing Machine Fire John Davies Place Both pumps attended. The "fire" was an overheated motor on a washing machine. The crews removed the machine to fresh air.
58 1.4.09 Fuel Spillage Morrisons 521 attended to this spillage. The car had recently been repaired following a similar spill. The car was placed in a safe place to await the RAC
59 3.4.09 Chimney Fire Bicton 511 and 521 attended this chimney. The building was clad in timber so posed an unusual risk.
60 4.4.09 Microlight Crash, Shobden This time 522 attended with 511 and the aerodromes own fire service. Unfortunately the 2 occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
61 5.4.09 RTC Fertilizer Spill An unusual call for 521, who asked for assistance from the Chemical Support Unit and Environmental Health department. 5000 Ltrs of liquid fert spilled near the river.
62 8.4.09 AFA Nursing Home Bargates 521 attended this false alarm, caused by a defective detector.
63 9.4.09 RTC Orchard Rise Another call for 521, to a car on its roof. The police attended.
64 11.4.09 Smoke In Kitchen, Churchill Avenue 522 attended and were assisted by 511. A fuse hads blown causing a cloud of smoke in the kitchen. The alarm was raised by the concerned owner.
65 12.4.09 Woodburner, Bircher 522 attended with 511 to this premis on Bircher common.
66 13.4.09 AFA Morrisons An early start for 521, the heating system had been fired up causing a cloud of smoke to set off the alarms.
67 13.4.09 AFA The Mallards 521 attended this incident and discovered a faulty detector head.
68 15.4.09 RTC Wellington A call to a lorry and 2 cars brought out 461 and 522. However the Hereford crew discovered that the incident was not too severe and stood the Leominster crew down.
69 15.4.09 RTC Mamble Although the Leominster rescue pump was mobilised, it was cancelled by control as they reolised the incident was near Kidderminster.

16.4.09 Fuel Spillage, Kimbolton The crew of 521 awaited the arrival of the police for this fuel spill that effected a long length of the road
72 17.4.09 Chimney Fire Redding Hall Both pumps were called to this address, however the owners had dealt with the problem successfully.
73 21.4.09 AFA Arkwright Court 521 attended to find a rather dirty detector head in the basement.
74 25.4.09 Bales on Fire Cherrybrook Close 522 and 461 attended this incident, A pile of 15 bales appeared to have been set alight in the middle of a field. The water carrier was also called from Bewdley. The incident was dealt with by the local crews.
75 26.4.09 Bales on Fire Cherrybrook Close 521 attended the same area as the previous incident. It appeared as though the bales had been re-ignited. However they had been lit in several areas. The Leominster crew dug out the burning areas and used plenty of water.
76 26.4.09 Moped in The River Whilst 521 was out, 522 was called to a moped in the river. The police had called for assistance as they were concerned about the environmental polution caused by the vehicle.
77 28.4.09 Lift Rescue Hereford Although 521 was mobilised they were not required so returned to station
78 28.4.09 Cooker Fire Kingsland 521 joined 511 at this fire, however Kingsland had dealt with the incident prior to Leominsters arrival
79 30.4.09 House Fire Tenbury Both Leominster pumps went to support Tenbury at this fire. This incident was increased to a make pumps 5, Leominsters watch manager took control until the arrival of senior officers from Shropshire.
80 1.5.09 Lock Out Middlemarsh 521 was called to a lockout where the owner believed they had left their cooker on
81 1.5.09 Person stuck in public toilet 521 was asked to assist in the release of a youth who was stuck, when the door to the toilet refused to open.
82 2.5.09 AFA Arkwright Court 522 wascalled to this building as a precaution. The appeared to be a fault on the system
83 4.5.09 Chimney St George Crescent 521 went on its own to this chimney
84 4.5.09 Smoke Alarm Activated Arkwright Court Both pumps were called to this building as actual activation was called in.However there appeared to be a fault on the system again.
85 9.5.09 Out Of Control Bonfire Hereford This was a make pumps 5 to Hereford, a garden bonfire that took hold of fences. 521 attended.
86 13.5.09 Out of Control Bonfire Tenbury 521 attended this bonfire as the Tenbury crews attended a fire at the local Spar.
87 14.5.09 AFA Norfolk House An unknown system fault met 521 as it attended the home in Etnam Street.
88 17.5.09 AFA Norfolk House A local family were preparing a flat for their father, the use of a steam stripper set of the alarm.
89 17.5.09 AFA Norfolk House The end of the day saw the stripper set off the alarms again.
90 23.5.09 AFA Morrisons An early call for 521as the bakery at Morrisons started up setting off the alarms.
91 24.5.09 AFA Norfolk House Another unknown system fault met 521 as it attended the home in Etnam Street.
92 24.5.09 Fuel Spillage, Broad Street Car Park On returning to the station the crew were called out again to attend a fuel spillage in the near by car park. The car was found to empty of its fuel by time the crew arrived
93 25.5.09 Sub Station Fire Tenbury Not Required
94 25.5.09 RTC A4112 Kimbolton Both pumps attended to find the occupant had been released prior to arrival. The vehicle was made safe due to risk of fire.
95 25.5.09 Fire In Open Bodenham Another bonfire sent the crew of 521 to investigate. The call was soon dealt with and the crews returned to home station.
96 27.5.09 House Fire Weobley 521 attended with 511, an elderly resident was rescued from the house and dealt with by the ambulance.
97 27.5.09 Car Fire Broad Street A quantity of oil had spilled on this newly services car. The resultant smoke caused considerable alarm for the owner. 521 attendd and dealt with the problem.
98 28.5.09 RTC Fords Bridge Having spent a while searching for the incident, directions were not very good. The crews arrived to find nobody hurt or trapped. 2 cars were made safe.
99 1.6.09 Fire In Open South Street Both pumps were called to deal with this fire.
100 3.6.09 RTC Cobnash 522 attended with 511 but not required
101 3.6.09 Fire In Open Rear Of Etnam Street The call for 522 was given as Eaton Close, however the crews established the address was in fact Etnam street and the fire was a bonfire being attended by the owner.
102 5.6.09 House Fire Nash Tenbury The Tenbury crews requested the attendance of 522 to us ethe thermal image camera, however by time the Leominster pump had been mobilised and attended the scene the camera was no longer required.
103 5.6.09 RTC Teme Street Tenbury 522 was again called to the Tenbury area, however the Tenbury crews were made available and attended in stead.
104 7.6.09 AFA Lloyds Bank The alarm was raised by a young girl bringing the towns 521 to the bank. The alarm had been going for a while and on entering the building, no fire was found.
105 8.6.09 Fire In Open Easters Woods 521 was called to this grass fire, a couple remained on scene to direct the pumps crew, reducing the time of attendance and ensuring the fire was dealt with before it had time to spread.
106 9.6.09 Fire In Open Rylands Road Again 521 was called to a small fire in wood and grassland off Rylands road. The fire was restricted to the base of a tree.
107 11.6.09 RTC Kingsland 522 was asked to attend as support for 511, they were not required.
108 12.6.09 Kitchen Fire Wigmore Street Although the fire was out when 521 & 522 arrived the crews administered oxygen therapy to the occupant until the ambulance arrived.
109 17.6.09 Factory Fire Skymark

Both pumps were called to Skymark on the industrial estate. On arrival the east end of the factory was well alight. It was quickly made pumps 4, pumps 6, pumps 10 and finally pumps 15. Neighbouring services of Shropshire and mid & west wales provided assistance. The town of Leominster was covered in thick black toxic smoke and large areas had to be evacuated to the bridge street leisure centre. The factory was destroyed although the highly flamable solvent silos were protected. The town crews also managed to retrieve the companies IT servers.

521 was recalled to the incident as relief, 522 attended later to recover some of the equipment used during the incident.

111 18.6.09 Afa Focus

521 had another early start but this time they were faced with a very dusty detector head at the local DIY store, Quickly dealt with and returned to station.

112 18.6.09 Factory Fire Skymark

Final inspection by 521 then a hand over to the owner.

113 21.6.09 Fire In Open, Southern Avenue

521 arrived to find a traveller had made himself a fire under a pine tree. He was told about the risks and asked to move aside whilst the fire was extinguished.

114 22.6.09 Bus Fire, Leominster By-pass

Both pumps attended this bus. The American passengers were escorted to safety prior to the arrival of the service.

115 23.6.09 Car Fire, Hundred Lane

521 attended to extinguish this fairly new Audi. The cause may have been electrical although a new diesel pump had just been fitted.

116 24.6.09 Smoke Issuing Waterworks Lane

Both crews attended but there was little to do. The occupnat who was away from the property at the time, had left his lunch on whilst out. Little damage was done although the crews had to ventilate the property.

117 24.6.09 Fire on the roof of Tyrells Crisps

522 assisted 511 at this factory. There was a small fire on the roof which involved an amount of cutting away.

118 25.6.09 Chicken Shed alight, Bodenham

522 was joined by 461, 501, 542 and the carrier from Ross. Fans used to cool the birds had overheated and caused a fire. The 2 BA crews Leominster and Hereford. Acted quickly to form a break in the fire halting its spread.

119 25.6.09 AFA Windsor Place

Whilst 522 were out 521 was called to this AFA.

120 25.6.09 Turkey Shed, Kingsland

521 was joined by 511, the fire was out on arrival.

121 2.7.09 Bonfire Out Of Control, Leo Demolition

The crew of 521 attended to find a controlled bonfire being attended by the owner

122 3.7.09 Person Stuck In Lift

Only one pump (522) attended to help lower this lift that had jammed just below the first floor

123 6.7.09 Smoke Issuing, Rowden House

521 joined 541 and 542 at this school for children with educational need, The probable cause was a faulty detector head

124 12.7.09 RTC Berrington

Both pumps attended this RTC to make safe the vehicle that had gone throught the railings around the National Trust Land

125 13.7.09 RTC Yarpole

522 was sent to assist 511 at this incident, no injury reported by the ambulance service but the car had to be stabalised before the driver could get out.

126 14.7.09 RTC Dinmore Hill

This make safe was attended by 521.

127 15.7.09 Motorbike Fire Ridgemore Road

521 attended and quickly extinguished the motorbike

128 16.7.09 RTC A49 Nr Wharton Bank

Both pumps attended to assist the ambulance crews release a woman from a car that had ended up in the hedge adjacent to the road.

129 17.7.09 Tree Fell On Kennels at Luston

An unusual call for 522, where a tree had falled on to kennels that housed 3 dogs. The crews were temporarily held up by a fourth "protective" rotty. When they got in to the property the dogs were soon released unharmed.

130 18.7.09 House Fire Tenbury

521 assisted Tenbury and Ludlow in the rescue of a man and his dog from this property. Worcester News

131 24.7.09 RTC Leintwardine

522 was dispatched to assist Leintwardines pump at this RTC.

132 25.7.09 Skymark Packaging

Both pumps were a bit subdued when called to revist the site of Skymark Packaging, the site had been devostated on 17th June. A small fire had started in the once ink store.

133 25.7.09 Hedge Fire Docklow

Only the one Leominster pump was required (521) to deal with this hedge fire.

134 3.8.09 AFA Buttercross

First one then the second pump were called to this AFA. The call centre belived it was two seperate incidents. No fire was found and the alarm was reset.

135 9.8.09 RTC Make Safe

521 attended and quickly made safe the car.

136 12.8.09 RTC Make Safe Passa Lane

There appeared to have been an RTC on Passa Lane, no persons at the scene, but a car in the hedge with the lights still on. The vehicle was made safe and handed over to the police.

137 13.8.09 Recycle Bin Fire Dinmore

A wheely bin had caught fire and was quickly extinguished by the crew of 521

138 15.8.09 Bailer Fire Tenbury

521 assisted 531 with this bailer. It had ignighted in the farm yard but away from buildings

139 17.8.09 Accidental alert by control

No Action

140 24.8.09 RTC Ludlow

522 joined 531 and Ludlows pump and a multi vehicle RTC. However the incident turned out to be a minor bump and the Leominster pump soon returned home

141 28.8.09 AFA Clifford House

Although the Leominster pump (521) attended, they found no fire and returned home .

142 29.8.09 RTC Bargates

Both pumps attended this RTC, making vehicles safe and assisting the police with the traffic.

143 29.8.09 RTC A49 Dinmore

522 joined 461 at the Little Chef at the bottom of Dinmore (Leominster Side) to release a casulaty from the car.

144 31.8.09 RTC Grove Farm Monkland

522 and 521 attended this RTC but fortunately it was a make safe only.

145 1.9.09 RTC Dinmore

Again 522 attended an RTC at Dinmore with 461

146 1.9.09 Gas Leak Minster School

522 attended to discover the origine of a gas leak at the school. With new building works at the school the leak was discovered coming from a pipe outside the building. It was capped off by British Gas.

147 4.9.09 Child Stuck in Public Toilets

The toilets across from the station locks at around 7 for the night. A child had been using the toilet and found she could not get out. She managed to escape prior to the station attending.

148 9.9.09 House Fire Kingsland

Just as drill night had started the towns pump (521) was sent to assist Kingsland with a house fire.

149 9.9.09 Fire in open Caswell Crescent

Much later the same evening 522 was sent to investigate a cloud of smoke in the Caswell area. It turned out that a rubbish bag, left out for collection the next morning, had been set alight.

150 14.9.09 Barn Fire Netherwood Estate

Both town pumps were sent to a make pumps six call at Netherwood between Tenbury and Bromyard. A shed full of hay was alight near a gas bullet. Plans were put in place and the incident was controlled.

151 15.9.09 Relief To Netherwood

521 went as relief shortly before six pm and were back by eleven pm having completed the job at Netherwood.

152 16.9.09 Hedge Fire Ebnal

A lenght of hedging about 15 meters long was set alight, propbably by a carelessly smoker. The hedge was extinguished before it had time to spread to the rest of the hedge and garden

153 16.9.09 RTC Ashford Carbonel

522 attended with 532 and Ludlow to this RTC. The Ludlow crews completed the rescue of a casualty who was taken away by air ambulance.

154 19.9.09 AFA Bodenham

It is unusual to be called to a private residence by AFA. This call was found to have a defective system and left with the owner to get serviced.

155 23.9.09 Chimney Fire Kenwater Close

Both pumps eventually attended to deal with this chimney, a Home Fire Safety Check was also completed with the stations crews fitting two smoke alarms before they left

156 25.9.09 Smoke In The Area Of Kenwater

521 attended to investigate this call. There was no fire in the area and the origin of the smoke, possibly a bonfire, was not discovered.

157 27.9.09 RTC Makesafe Monkland

When 521 attended they discovered no vehicle in the area. The police had been asked to attend. It appeared as though the car that had been on its roof was righted by the occupants and driven away. The towns pump washed away a quantity of petrol from the road way.

158 27.9.09 Bonfire Dinmore Hill

Initially 521 was called for to attend the address. They discovered an attended fire but it was a bit close to a 40 ft hedge.

159 27.9.09 Make 2 To Bonfire

The OIC of 521 asked for assistance to ferry water to extinguish this bonfire.

160 28.9.09 Forrest Vehicle fire Shobden Woods

522 was asked to assist 511 to locate and extinguish the vehicle. It was discovered deep in the woods and the risk of fire spread meant the use of foam was appropriate. The fire was extinguished quickly and cooling of the remains as well as the surroundng area was done.

 

161 28.9.09 Whitestone Hire Hereford

Leominsters 521 was called to a make pumps 6 at this hire company in Hereford. The crew did very little but assist in running out some hose as the incident was mainly dealt with by Herefords ALP.

162 2.10.09 AFA Eycote

521 attended Eycote, to find a fault in the system.

163 3.10.09 AFA Etnam Street

Again 521 attended but had a bit more of a problem as the flats, previously owned by Marches housing, have passed in to private hands. The appropriate people to speak to were difficult to track down.

164 3.10.09 RTC Dinmore Hill

521 and 462 attended but the Leominster pump was not required by the Hereford crew and returned home.

165 6.10.09 AFA Lion Court

Early evening call to Lion court for both pumps, candlesin one of the flats caused the alarm.

166 8.10.09 AFA Lion Court

Another visit to the Lion Court but this time it is to the offices and some burnt toast

167 9.10.09 AFA Cottages Penbridge

An elderly resident had cleanedout his Raeburn but had caused the alarms to activate.

This house had a private AFA system and the call centre mobilised both Leominster pumps. However the residents were outside gadening and no fire was foundin the property.

521 was called to Etnam street to deal with this flooding in the electric supply.

171 11.10.09 Man On Bridge Hereford

522 joined Fownhope and the boat as a man was threatening to jump off the bridge.He was persuaded to come away fromthe edge by the police.

172 14.10.09 AFA Muscat Development

521 again mobilised to the site housing the bank and library, a malicious activation of a break point caused the alarm.

173 16.10.09 RTC Wigmore

522 was asked to assist in the recovery of 2 people at this RTC. With crews from Leintwardine and Kingsland the Towns crew were detained for a considerable time.

174 18.10.09 Woodburner Eaton Manor

Both pumps attended this fire at Hamnish. Using hosereel and adapters as well as the thermal image camera the job was completed without amajor issue.

175 22.10.09 Pub Fire Richards Castle

Both pumps were called to this early morning shout along with a crew from Ludlow. It was the result of a malicious call.

176 23.10.09 Car Fire Brierly

A call in the early hours sent the crew of 521 to a burning Peugeot. The crew dealt with it quickly although there was no driver in attendance.

177 24.10.09 RTC Lorry and House

A lorry had collided with a house at Stretford,Leominster joined Kingsland and the USAR team to deal with the incident.

521 was asked to attend as a relief crew to the above job.

179 25.10.09 Fire In Open Barons Cross

521 was again mobiled to a fire at Barons Cross. A skip placed near the nusery was set alight.

Barons cross road was the destination for 522. A garden shed had been set alight by a smoldering compost heap.

181 28.10.09 Bin Fire Corn Steet

A bin fire outside Boots the Chemist, 521 attende and dealt with it quickly.

182 29.10.09 Barn Fire Eyton

Both pumps attended this property to find a tractor alight inside a barn with livestock. The animals were unhurt and the fire was controlled quickly.

183 1.10.09 Bin Fire Corn Square

521 attended Corn Square again, Second time in 3 days, to a bin fire.

184 3.10.09 RTC Bus and Car Kingsland

Both pumps attended this incident as Kingslands pump failed to start. The bus contained 28 teenage school pupils that were all unhurt. The occupant of the car was "Medically" trapped and the crews removed the roof to aid her release.

185 4.10.09 RTC Make Safe South Street

A fairly minor collision, nobody hurt, meant a call for 521 to make the vehicles safe and assist in the removal of the vehicles.

186 5.11.09 Bonfire Rear Of Fina

522 were attending a bonfire at Orleton when they received this call. The bonfire was being attended to so the crews left the job with the occupier.

187 7.11.09 RTC Make Safe Ivington

A quick make safe by the crew of 521

188 8.11.09 Car Smoking Castlefields

521 attended but found the cause of the "smoke" was no longer evident on the car.

189 10.11.09 Woodburner Fire Buckfield Road

Both pumps attended this incident. The removal of lagging was required in one bedroom to ensure there was no fire spread.

190 12.11.09 House fire persons reported Weobley

521 and 511 attended. The occupier who was bedridden had activated his call button. No fire was found and the owners carer was left in attendance.

191 15.11.09 Helicopter crash Shobden

522 attended with 511, a helicopter had colided with the aircrafts hanger. No persons were injured.

192 16.11.09 AFA Copper Beeches

The building was under going renovation, The crew of 521 were unable to gain access, no fire was evident a fault with the system was the likely cause.

193 20.11.09 AFA Berrington Hall

522 was asked to attend with the PDA, also mobilising 511 and 531. Leominsters pump arrived at the scene to discover an accidental alarm caused by decorators.

194 22.11.09 Woodburner, Luston

Both pumps attended this call. The woodburner was going well but the crews soon dealt with the problem.

195 23.11.09 RTC Make Safe

A44 East nr Steensbridge, a simple make safe for the crew of 521

196 25.11.09 RTC Orleton

522 joined Ludlow at this 2 lorry RTC, no action other than making lorries safe was required. 521 and 511 also called but stood down.

197 25.11.09 AFA Norfolk House

An amount of smoke from cooking had set this detector head off, the crew of 521 ventilated the room quickly for the resident

198 25.11.09 AFA Forbury Residential

Again a bit of over cooking had caused the alarm system to activate. 521 returned to ststion very soon.

199 26.11.09 Man Under Skip Southern Avenue

522 was called to assist rescue a man under a skip, they were stood down by control and returned to station.

200 27.11.09 Cooker Fire Tyrrells

Both pumps joined 511 at Tyrrells to extinguish a fire in one of their fryers. Also attending was the ALP from Worcester.

201 27.11.09 Assist Ambulance Danefield Drive

The crew was asked to assist the ambulance crew with a casualty, the gentleman came around and no assistance from the service was required.

202 28.11.09 Smoke Detector Buckfield

Both pumps again attended an unattended house, the neighbours heard a smoke alarm activating inside. The crews gained access to discover a water leak dripping on to the detector head.

203 30.11.09 AFA Berrington Hall

521, 522 and 511 were called to this historic building. A heater in the Arched building had activated the alarm. A thorough search was carried out.

204 1.12.09 Chimney Fire Ebnal

A chimney fire that had nearly blown out meant a call for 521, the use of a hosereel and chimney adapter soon finished the job.

205 1.12.09 Woodburner Eardisland

Whilst 521 was attending the above chimney, 522 and 511 attended a job at Eardisland.

206 3.12.09 RTC Leominster Bypass

Both pumps attended this RTC near Warton. A car and a lorry collided. The driver of the car was released by the service personnel and taken to hospital by ambulance. 2 M.A.R.S. Doctors were also in attendance.

207 6.12.09 Woodburner Staunton On Arrow

521 attended with 491, the crew from Kington worked inside whilst the Leominster crew put a ladder up to the chimney.

208 9.12.09 AFA Norfolk House

A bit of over enthusiastic cooking resulted in the activation of a smoke alarm. 521 attended and soon cleared the room of steam.

209 11.12.09 AFA Muscat Development

Again 522 attended to discover the alarms had been activated during a weekly test. Our control had not been informed.

522 attended to find the engineer working on the system

212 14.12.09 Fire In Machinery Kingspan

522 attended with 511 and 549. A small fire in an electric motor caused a small amount of damage, the venting system used by the company caused a small spreak of glowing embers to access another part of the factory. This was dealt with quickly and the company was able to restart production.

213 14.12.09 Woodburner Stock Prior

521 attended and was joined by 522 after control had stood down 531. Cutting away of an exposed timber was required to ensure the fire had not spread.

214 17.12.09 RTC Persons trapped

522 attended with 511, Persons released prior to arrival. Vehicle was made safe

215 23.12.09 Assist Ambulance

521 was called to assist an ambulance crew with a large casulatly who had collapsed in his home. He had recovered enough by time the service arrived to leave the house himself.

216 29.12.09 Van Fire, Post Office

521 was called to deal with this postal van fire. It turned out that the call was steam and burnt oil from a blown turbo.

217 29.12.09 Stand By 46

Whilst Herefords pumps were out attending a large fire. The crew of 522 were asked to remain on stand by at the city station.

218 30.12.09 Porta Cabin Fire

Both pumps were called to attend this fire. A group of youths were at the scene of a fire at a derelict site. The crews dealt with the fire quickly and left the scene and the youths to the Police.

219 31.12.09 RTC Make safe Shobden

An icy night caused a young motorist to loose control of her car and ended up on its roof. The crew of 522 arrived to make the car and area safe.
