1 1.1.2010 House Fire, Far Meadow Road

Both crews were called to this flat, on the morning of the new year. Extensive damage inside the property, but the crews dealt with it quickly using 2 BA wearers and a hose reel. Fire Investigation was called in and Scenes Of Crime from the Police.

2 1.1.2010 Fuel Spillage, Southern Avenue

The crew of 521 were called to deal with this spill, they were back on station within the hour.

3 2.1.2010 AFA Morris mews

521 attended this AFA. They were delayed a while whilst keys were found to offices on the first floor. A Thermal Image Camera was used to ensure no fire source within the walls

4 2.1.2010 Chip Pan Fire etnam Street

Both pumps were called, the fire was out on arrival but the crews ventilated the property.

5 4.1.2010 Car Fire A49 South

521 was called but was soon joined by 522, as a car had caught fire near the filling station at the bottom of Dinmore Hill. The car was extinguished quickly by 2BA wearers using 2 hose reels. The road was then gritted by the local authorities.

6 7.1.2010 Smoke Issuing Waverly House

Both pumps an ambulance and the police were called to this incident at 3:00 in the morning. The weather was very cold (-11) the use of an industrial sized tumble dryer resulted in a plume of vapour which looked like smoke to a neighbour.

7 11.1.2010 Water In Electrics

521 was called to this water leak at Stoke Prior. The electrics was isolated and left with the owner.

8 12.1.2010 AFA Muscat Development

521 called again to an AFA. The system was discoved to be faulty and engineers were called out

9 13.1.2010 Electrics in Black Swan Walk

The police called the service to assist with electrics smoking in the alley next to the Black Swan Public House. The area was taped off by the crew of 521 until the supply was isolated.

10 16.1.2010 Train Crash, Moreton

An RTC involving a train and 2 cars, Hereford crews dealt with the incident.

11 18.1.2010 AFA Broad Street

The alarm was raised to a property in Broad Street, The crew of 521 had trouble gaining entry and no key holder was available. The use of ladders and thermal image showed there was no fire.

12 20.1.2010 AFA Dinmore Manor

Again 521 attended, an electrical fault had triggered the call

13 27.1.2010 Carbon Monoxide Alarm, Kingsland

511 attended this address in responce to a carbon monixide alarm. The crew of 522 were called to assist with the gas monitor that is carrie don the pump. 2 BA wearers did a sweep of the building before an all clear was given

14 31.1.2010 Roof Fire Newton

Both pumps were called and were joined by Kingsland when the officer made pumps 3. There was an electrical fault in the roof which had caused some of the insulation to burn. The occupier, an 86 year old was attended to by fire service personne before being taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution.

15 1.2.2010 Gas Leak South Street

521 were called to a suspected gas leak, using the gas monitor from 522, the crew were able to give the all clear and pass the incident over to the police.

16 5.2.2010 RTC Burghill

522 was asked to assist at this RTC whilst the Hereford pumps were at another incident. Fortunately the Heeford pumps became available and 522 was able to return to home station.

17 7.2.2010 AFA Focus DIY

An early start for the crew of 521. The alarms at the DIY superstore had been activated by accident.

18 7.2.2010 RTC Make Safe Ivington.

A driver had skidded in the ice and managed to crash in to railings by one of Ivingtons many brookes. No body was hurt and the crew of 521 soon made the vehicle safe.

19 8.2.2010 Hotel Fire Leintwardine

522 and 521 were both mobilised to this 6 pump incident. Whilst the crews of 521 provided incident command support, 522 was used to ferry water.

20 12.2.2010 Train Fire, just outside Leominster

Both pumps attended a call to the railway line. A locked wheel on a passenger train had begun to smoke. The service were not required as the railways dealt with the incident.

21 14.2.2010 Kitchen Fire Blanchard Close

A smoke alarm activated from a house alerted the neighbours. Both pumps attended and access was gained to discover a water leak had caused the electrics to short and activate the alarm. The water was issolated and the incident left with the neighbour.

22 22.2.2010 RTC Wigmore

522 was mobilised to assist Leintwardine. The incident was scaled down before Leominster attended so the crew were turned back to home station.

23 22.2.2010 RTC Bucknall

For the secondtime in the day 522 was asked to assist Leintwardine, they already had the support of the Ludlow crew, Leominster was turned back to home station.

24 24.2.2010 Shed Fire Bodenham

Both Leominster pumps and a pump from Hereford attended this shed. It was given as domestic oil tank. The tank had soon burnt out leaving a considerable shed fire. The fire was dealt with quickly although the Leominster crews were detained fo a considerable time.

25 25.2.2010 Carbon Monoxide Gas

The rescue pump, 522, carries a gas monitor so was requested by Leintwardine to attend a posible carbon monoxide poisoning. The ambulace crew, in attendance contacted control to stand 522 down.

26 25.2.2010 House Fire Hampton Gardens

Both pumps attended this 5 pumps terrace house fire. The area has limited access, with poor parking by the local residents meant a slight delay. The crews soon had the house under control,and neighbouring properties were unaffected by the fire.

27 26.2.2010 Reinspection of above

A crew in 521 was despatched to re-visit the property to ensure the fire was all out.

28 26.2.2010 RTC Mortimers Cross

522 joined 511 at this incident. It was discovered that the incident had occured the previous night but the cashed car was left precariously perched on a hedge.

29 26.2.2010 RTC A49 South of Leominster

Both pumps were joined by a road ambulance and 2 air ambulances. A car had been in colision with a lorry and ended up on its side in a ditch. The roof was removed and the two elderly occupants helped to the awaiting ambulace crews.

30 26.2.2010 Chemical Incident Shobden

522 attended along with 511and the services specialist crews, to an apparent attack on a local property with an unknown white powder. After many hours and at a great deal of cost the Scientific Services Officer concluded the powder was an inert product.

31 26.2.2010 House Fire Portersmill Close

Whilst 522 was attending the above "incident" 521 and a Tenbury pump attended a house fire on the out skirts of town. Fortunately it was a small fire in a down stais toilet. This was soon dealt with by the leominster crew.

32 27.2.2010 RTC Bromyard Road Tenbury

Having finished at the Shobden incident 522 was asked to attend an RTC in Tenbury. Whilst proceeding Tenburys pump in Leominster became available and proceeded to the job. Leominsters rescue pump was stood down as it entred Tenbury.

33 28.2.2010 AFA Kaleidoscope Care

521 attended this defective detector head.

34 2.3.2010 House Fire Battlebridge Close

Both pumps attended the address in Battlebridge, 2 BA wearers discovered an electrical appliance had been left on and scorched the carpets.

35 4.3.2010 Woman Stuck In Lift, Townsend Court

Following a power cut the station was called to recue a woman trapped in the lift. The car was close to ground level, the doors were prised open.

36 9.3.2010 Fuel Spillage, Morrisons

521 attended a fuel spillage, the area was made safe quickly and the crew returned to station very quickly.

37 10.3.2010 Fire at the rear of the Minster College

Both pumps attended, a generator was being used which was producing a plume of smoke. The incident was left with the security guard

38 11.3.2010 Smoke Alarm Sounding. Shobden

521 attended with 511. The Kingsland crew had attended first to find an elderly gentleman had left something in his microwave. The house had been filled with smoke.

39 17.3.2010 RTC Adforton

522 was called with 501 and 511 to attend a persons trapped RTC. Leintwardine was first in attendance and turned 522 back.

40 18.3.2010 Caravan Fire Orleton

Both pumps attended this incident, a caravan and a quantity of bracken within woodlands. Because of the location and woodland near by the incident became a pumps 3.Kingsland attended with Leintawardine attending as support.

41 30.3.2010 False Alert

The station was alerted in error

521 was called toSomerfield but stood down before they left the station

43 2.4.2010 Smell Of Smoke Buskwood

Both pumps were called to this country cottage. A newly installed heating system producing fumes caused the owner to call out the service to check there was no fire

44 5.4.2010 Chimney Fire Luston

The crew of 521 attended, the chimney was out on arrival but the crews checked for hot spots.

45 5.4.2010 AFA Norfolk House

Again 521 was called, a faulty detector head was discovered.

A second call to the property raised further concerns, the system was check thoroughly again by the crews and an alarm service engineer was called

47 5.4.2010 RTC A49 Ashton

Both pumps were called to this RTC. A car had mounted the bank on the side of the road.The occupant was taken to hospital by ambulance. 1 pump was asked to stay at the scene until the vehicle was recovered due to its precarious position

48 6.4.2010 House Fire Persons Reported Middlemarsh

Both pumps joned by 511, fortunately there was no fire just an overheated fridge/freezer

49 10.4.2010 Relief, Malvern College

521 attended as a 4 pump relief. The crews had a watching brief whilst investigation in to a possible chemical issue. When the all clear was given a crew was sent in to search for hot spots.

50 13.4.2010 House Fire Portnaway

Both pumps and a First Responder attended,unfortunately (from a waste of resources point of view)this was a malicious call

51 14.4.2010 Electric Cables on Road Ginall Lane

521 responded but found a telephone cable across the road,it was moved to the road side and BT informed

52 18.4.2010 Car Fire Etnam Street Carpark

A car had been set ablase and 3 others damaged. The crew of 521 soon had the incident under control.

53 18.4.2010 Rogue Alert

The alerters were activated but there was no emergency to respond to.

54 4.4.2010 Assist Police

A man threatened to jump of a railway bridge in town, the crew of 521 were requested to attend incase they were needed. They were stooddown quickly as the incident was resolved.

55 24.4.2010 Kitchen Fire

521 were alerted to attend a kitchen fire with Kingsland. The Kingsland crew were first in attendance and stood the Leominster crew down.

56 25.4.2010 RTC Make Safe, Gateway Lane

In the first instance this appeared to be a simple call, however the crew of 521 attended to find a car embedded in the wall of a house. The car occupants were attended to by the police. A woman living in a flat above the incident had to be rescued. Incident support was called for to make the property safe.

57 3.5.2010 AFA Community Hospital

521 attended to discover a faulty detector head.

58 4.5.2010 AFA Community Hospital

Again 521 attended to find another faulty detector head, the staff at the hospital were advised to have the whole system checked.

59 6.5.2010 Chimney, Croft Street

A straight forward chimney fire, however the narrow street meant a bit of a traffic issue. 522 was also called as the rescue pump carries a thermalimage camera used to check the walls within the property.

60 10.5.2010 Fuel Spillage Steensbridge

A 4 wheel drive vehicle towing a horse box "sprung a leak". A largequantity of oil was deposited on the road. The crew, with assistance from the police, maintained traffic flow on the busy A44 until the vehicle was recovered and Amey dealt with the oil.

61 10.5.2010 Child stuck in public toilet

Another victim of the toilets near the station. The crew of 521 soon opened the doors and freed the child to their awaiting family

62 13.5.2010 RTC Dinmore

522 attended this shunt. No persons trapped but a lot of traffic about. The area was made safe and vehicles recovered quickly.

63 17.5.2010 Alarm Sounding, Shobden

521 was again required to assist Kingsland, again like incident 55, Kingsland were in attendance first and stood Leominster down.

64 17.5.2010 Baby Stuck In Car

Whilst 521 was going to assist Kingsland, a call came in for 522 to rescue a baby who was locked in a car. The crews gained access by breaking a window and the baby was soon reunited with his mother.

65 20.5.2010 Bin Fire, Corn Suare

When 521 attended they found an overflowing bin smoldering from a cigarette. The crews damped it down and the bin was emptied by the council.

66 21.5.2010 Campervan Smoking, Broad Street

The Leominster crew were called to Broad Street to a campervan with an electrical fault. The issue was soon dealt with and the camper soon on its way.

67 23.5.2010 Lock Out, Burgess Street

A woman had locked her self out of her first floor flat and left the cooker on. The crew of 521 put up the 9m ladder and soon gained access.

68 24.5.2010 Fire In Open, Ginall Lane

521 attended to a small fire in the hedgerow. There were no obvious signs of an ignition source

69 25.5.2010 Lorry Fire, Brimfield

The Leominster crew were alerted to this incident, but stood down by control.

70 28.5.2010 AFA Morrisons

Early morning shout to the supermarket to discover engineers welding in the roof void.They had switched off some of the alarm system but not all. No action taken by the service.

71 28.5.2010 Lorry Fire, Brimfield

Return to the incident from Tuesday. The incident was at Ashton,the skip container lorry dealt with by a neighbouring station was smoldering. The OIC requested the C.A.F.S. team from Peterchurch and the driver was soon on his way to Telford.

71 30.5.2010 AFA Old Priory

521 attended the old priory but had to wait for a key holder. Dust in detector head

72 3.6.2010 Labrador with head stuck in railings

521 again attended, they soon released the dog and returned home

73 4.6.2010 Cooker Cherrybrook Close

Both pumps were mobilised to this incident. On arrival the crew of 521 discovered the small fire had been dealt with by a neighbour. The house was ventilated and crews returned to station.

74 5.6.2010 AFA Leofric House

522 attended these sheltered flats. The occupant was out and a "HELP" alarm had activated. The crew gained access by a keyholder and the all clear was given.

75 10.6.2010 Bin Fire, Middlemarsh

521 attended a wheelie bin that was against a house. Quickly dealt with and retuned home

76 11.6.2010 Overheating Batteries Leo Police Station

Both pumps were called to overheating batteries. The overheat had caused a shut down of the stations PCs. The issue was soon sorted.

77 11.6.2010 Smoke In Area of The talbot Hotel

521 attended to find a cloud of smoke visible in the street lights, the origin uncertain

78 11.6.2010 Smoke In Area of The talbot Hotel

522 was called for to assist as it carries the ThermalImage camera. The source was discovered, a pan left on in the kitchen of the Talbot

79 16.6.2010 Caravan Fire, A49 Leominster Bypass

Both pumps attended and 511 was called for for water. A mobile home well alight. Fire Investigation wee also called for

80 17.6.2010 Tree Fire, Middlemarsh

521 was called to attend,the tree was soon sorted with 1hose reel

81 20.6.2010 Fence Fire, Ridgemoor

The Leominster pump was called to this fence. The crew used 1hose reel.

82 20.6.2010 Wheely Bin Hopyard

Whilst finishing up with the above, the crew of 521 was called to a house fire. Turned out to be a wheely bin. The crews extinguished the bin and checked the property with the thermal image camera

83 21.6.2010 Garage Fire, Dishley Court

An early start for 521 and 522, a wodden garage well alight. Fortunately this was a stand alone garage away from property, and a very good pressure hydrant near by.

84 21.6.2010 Display Fire, Focus DIY

Whilst out re-inspecting the garage fire above, 522 was called to a "Late Fire Call" at Focus, to a shed that had been burnt during the night. The area had been cleared by the staff at Focus but the remains were checked by the crew.

85 22.6.2010 AFA Cheaton Close

521 attended to discover faulty aparatus.

86 24.6.2010 AFA Ice Southern Avenue

521 took over the incident fromTenbury

88 26.6.2010 Afa Lucton School

The Leominster pump went as backup for Knigsland, the Kingsland asked for leominster to be stood down.

89 26.6.2010 House Fire Kenwater Close

Both pumps attended, there was an electrical fault with a kitchen appliance that was soon dealt with by the station.

90 28.6.2010 Horse Stuck In Horse Box, Bargates

A horse had got itself stuck on a bar across the front of its horse-box. Both crews were called, the crew of 522 released the horse by removing the bar.

91 3.7.2010 RTC Brampton Bryan

522 was mobilised to support Leintwardine, they were stood down not required

92 3.7.2010 Smoke Issuing, Pinsley Mill

522 attended with 511 backing them up. This long time derelict building the subject of a fire again.

93 7.7.2010 Smell Of Smoke, EtnamStreet

521 was called to the area, they found a bonfire alight being attended by the owner.

94 8.7.2010 AFA Morrisons

Early morning call for 521, the engineers were working on part of the system they thought they had issolated.

95 9.7.2010 Cracking In Wall, Dilwyn

511 and 521 attended to hear a buzzing coming fromthe wall of a house, the wall contained a sizable bee hive.

96 9.7.2010 Child In Gates, Junior School

A child that had become stuck in gates at the school, was cause for alarm. However before 522 had travelled too far the call came back that the child had been released.

97 9.7.2010 RTC Makesafe A49

521 attended this incident to make a car safe following the RTC. They were delayed a while waiting for the cars recovery.

98 10.7.2010 Smoke Issuing Marshfield

Both pumps attended to find the workshops well alight. 2 BA wearers soon had the fire out.

99 13.7.2010 Relief Barn Fire Lingen

Leominster attended as a relief crew at this barn.

The station enjoyed another stint at the barn.

101 17.7.2010 Barnfire Downton On The Rock

521 was called to assist at this Barn Fire.

102 18..2010 Van Fire, Conningsby Road

When 521 arrived the vehicle was well alight, the crews soon extinguished it whilst wearing BA.

103 19.7.2010 House Fire, New Meadow Tenbury

521 again mobilised to assist Tenbury. Eventually the second pump tromTenbury was crewed and 521 was able to return home station.

104 25.7.2010 Esterform Packaging Tenbury

Both Leominster pumps joined Tenbury, and many others at this factory fire. Leominster provided a fire ground pump ,BA crews and incident command support.

105 26.7.2010 Fire In Open, Cheaton Close

A call to fire in open, at Cheaton, turned out to be a garden fire attended by the owner.

106 27.7.2010 RTC Dinmore

522 attended a car that had been in a colision 24 hours previously. The gentleman driver was assisted by the AA.

107 2.8.2010 Ring Stuck, Waverly House

The crew of th Leominster Pump arrived to find an elderly frail resident with a badly swollen finger, the blood flow appeared to be restricted by the ring. An ambulance was called for and she was taken to hospital.

108 3.8.2010 Bin Fire, Focus DIY

521 were called to Focus to attend to a skip fire at the rear of the premisses.

109 3.8.2010 Rubbish Fire, Bodenham

A large quantity of grass cuttings had caught fire.The crews damped down the surrounding area then extinguished the pile.

110 5.8.2010 Horse Stuck, Kimbolton

521 was asked to attend the second horse in a box call this year. However before the crew got too far the horse had been released.

111 6.8.2010 Garage Fire, Pinsley Road

Eventually the Leominster crews tracked down the garage, the description being far from acurate. The door of the old building had been stuffed with grasscuttings and set alight. The crews soon removed the smoldering grass and returned to home station.

112 7.8.2010 Smell Of Smoke, Summergalls, leominster

Both pumps attended this very large pile of green waste within a barn.Estimated at around 400 tonnes, the rotting waste had self heated and eventually ignited. The crews, with help, dug through to the source.

113 7.8.2010 Barn/House Fire, Wennlime Wooton.

522 attended on a "make pumps 6". An old barn had caught fire and spread to a nearby barn conversion. 522 assisted with BA wearers.

114 8.8.2010 Re-Inspection, Summergalls

521 re-inspected the green waste heap the day after the fireto ensure it was allout.

115 12.8.2010 RTC Make Safe,Orleton Road

The crew of 521 were asked to make this vehicle safe following and RTC

116 12.8.2010 Car In precarious Position

On returning fromthe above shout the crew of 521 were asked to proceed to a car that had been in a spin and was now partially blocking the road.

117 13.8.2010 Girl StuckIn Bike Lock

A would be Houdini found her self stuckin a bike lock. The crew of 522 attended to extricate her with a pair of bolt croppers

118 15.8.2010 AFA Norfolk House

521 attended to find a faulty detector head at the address

119 15.8.2010 AFA Arkwight Court

Again 521 attended, but this time to be met by the unmistakable smell of burnt toast.

120 16.8.2010 Fire-In-Open, Leominster By-Pass

A bit of confusion ensued to the location of this fire. Eventully the crews, on foot, were able to locate a patch of ground 1m x 2m that had been set alight, but had gone out.

121 16.8.2010 Shed Fire, Mortimer Street

521attended to a shed that had completely burnt out. Fie investigation was called for.

122 17.8.2010 Car Fire, Near Railway Crossing

A car fire meant a callout for 521, they were soon joined by 522 asthe fire alsoincluded a garage. Fie investigation was called out again, as 511 were called to attend another car fire within half an hou within .half a mile

123 18.8.2010 Car Fire, Burgess Street. Leominster

A car leaving the central carpark suddenly produced smaok and flames from beneath the bonnet. The crew of 521 attended and with BA sets and hose reels soon put the car out.

124 19.8.2010 Fuel Spillage, Morrisons

An old Landrover was over filled at the petrol station, with a few gallons of fuel on the floor the petol station staff decided they needed 521's assistance. The leak was issolated.

125 19.8.2010 Smoke Alarm. Arkright Court

Both pumps again attende the retirement home. Another cooking incident resulted in fumes setting off the alarm.

126 19.8.2010 Fire In Open Cherrybrook Close

521 was asked to attend what turned out to be a malicious call. The crews returned to home station.

127 22.8.2010 Shed Fire, The Priory

A issolated shed appeared to have caught fire, the owners were unaware.Investigation was carried out by the fire service and police to decide on the cause.

128 22.8.2010 Electric Transformer, The Rugg

A large part of town lost its electricity supply as a 66,000 Volt transformer "Exploded" in a shower of sparks. The crews created a cordon and awaited the arrival of EON.

129 23.8.2010 RTC Burley Gate

522 joined Bomyard and a pump from Hereford, to assist in the rescue of 2 casualties trapped in 2 vehicles. Leominster firstly made room by cutting away parts of a hedge, then helped remove the roof and door of one of the vehicles.

130 25.8.2010 Fire In Open, Portna Way

The crew of 521 were joined by the police to lookfor a fire, The area was clear and the caller traced. The police were left to deal with the malicious phone caller.

131 25.8.2010 AFA Leisure Centre

The Leominster crew were called tothe leisure centre, a full evacuation had been carried out.The centre was searched quickly, and the swimmers were allowed back in.
